PIERROT LUNAIRE - GIANNI SCHICCHI
Partendo dall’idea registica di unire le due opere si è pensato di inserire alcuni personaggi (i parenti) del Gianni Schicchi all’interno del Pierrot Lunaire, e così anche i costumi dovevano inserirsi nel nuovo contesto.
Starting from the idea of combining the two directorial works, it was decided to insert some characters ( relatives ) of Gianni Schicchi in the Pierrot Lunaire , and also the costumes had to fit into the new context.
This gives rise to the idea of the colorful fantastic world seen by Gherardino, where the mourning for the impending loss of his uncle becomes the reason of the characters' clothing .
The Pierrot initially appears as an imaginative nurse , worried about the fate of Duoso Bonati ; then, under her alb, we discover multiple and pastel shaded layers of her dress in tulle.
The Donati family comes to the bedside of the relative wearing special coats. The inspiration comes directly from the abstract paintings of Mondrian, where the predominant colors are mourning ones, both in Western culture ( black bars ) than in the East ( which are white with dyed / soiled coats ) .
Nasce da qui l’idea del mondo fantastico e colorato visto da Gherardino dove il lutto per l’imminente perdita dello zio diviene causa dell’abbigliamento dei protagonisti.
Il Pierrot inizialmente si mostra come una fantasiosa infermiera, preoccupata per le sorti di Duoso Bonati; si scoprono poi, sotto il camice, i molteplici strati nei toni pastello del suo abito in tull.
La famiglia Donati si presenta al capezzale del parente in particolari cappotti. L’ispirazione viene direttamente dall’astratto Mondrian, dove i colori predominanti sono quelli del lutto sia nella cultura occidentale (le bande nere) che in quelle orientali (il bianco con cui sono tinti/sporcati i cappotti).
Da questa sorta di maschere sociali in bianco e nero si riesce però a cogliere la vera natura dei personaggi, sono infatti presenti dettagli colorati negli interni dei cappotti, nei bottoni e in alcune cuciture.
From this kind of social masks in black and white we can grasp the true nature of the characters.
Si passa quindi da una situazione di esterno (con i cappotti) per il Pierrot Lunaire a un interno (senza cappotti) del Gianni Schicchi, con costumi-abiti moderni scelti per caratterizzare i ceti sociali e i rispettivi ruoli dei vari personaggi.
Colorful details are present in the interior of coats, in the buttons and some stitching .
We pass from a situation of the exterior ( with coats ) for the Pierrot Lunaire to an interior one ( without coats ) of Gianni Schicchi , with modern dress - costumes chosen to characterize the social classes and the respective roles of the various characters .
